Here’s what a DOE Assistant Teacher's day looks like:
Ensure each student's health and safety at all times through close supervision and adherence to our daily protocols
Speak with parents and caregivers regarding student progress
Assist in implementing our unique and original curriculum
Maintain the highest level of customer service possible in accordance with the NY Kids Club pillars of service
Have a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism, and a desire to bring joy to learning
Work with Lead Preschool Teacher to assess student abilities and progress

Requirements:
This job is for you if you:
Have a High School Diploma or GED- required
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Special Education highly recommended) or are in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree
Have 1 year of teaching experience (ideally in a preschool classroom)
Are a self-starter, highly motivated, dynamic, and a creative team player
Have excellent communication skills
Are a lifelong learner!

The pay rate for this role is $36,000 (10 month school year)
Physical Demands:
The role involves standing, walking, sitting, constant movement, and occasional climbing. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific sensory abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
