Key Accountabilities:
Completing initial assessment and subsequent re-assessments.
Planning Nursing care.
Delivering and delegating planned care.
Accurately communicating and recording care requirements and health status.
Re-assessing and evaluating planned care as required.
Participating and contributing to care review and communicating with relevant health professionals.
Advocating on behalf of resident.
Providing resident, relatives and significant others with timely and pertinent information.
Consulting with residents and/or family / whanau on issues relating to the resident and their care.
Prioritising, directing, and monitoring care staff activities.
Providing informal training as required.
Supervising the care staff (Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses).
Replacing staff as needed in consultation with Manager / on call Manager.
Providing feedback to Unit Manager and relevant others anything that will affect the day to day operation of ward / unit and untoward events.
Workplace Health and Safety:
Consistently act as a role model for safe work practices.
Ensure that all incidents and accidents are reported in accordance with CHT policies and procedures.
Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, relevant legislation and regulations and CHT’s policies and procedures.
Attend and actively participate in team health and safety meetings. Read more
