Job Description
New World Pioneer is a large, locally owned and operated supermarket in Palmerston North. With a team that prides ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience for every customer.
We are looking for two enthusiastic and reliable Checkout Operators to join our busy Checkout team. If you enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in providing outstanding customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
These are permanent part-time positions working evening shifts. As a Checkout Operator, you'll be one of the last team members our customers interact with, making a positive and lasting impression through friendly, efficient service.
Working as part of our Checkout team, you'll accurately scan and pack groceries, assist customers with their enquiries, and help maintain a smooth and efficient checkout experience. You'll also work closely with your teammates to ensure the department operates to a high standard throughout your shift.
Available Positions
Position 1
Monday to Thursday 4:00pm – 9:00pm
Position 2
Thursday to Saturday 4:00pm – 9:00pm
About You
The successful applicant will have:
A passion for delivering exceptional customer service
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong attention to detail
Good time-management skills
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic
The ability to work well as part of a team
Previous retail or supermarket experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
