Job Description
As a Tax Advisor, your role involves providing tax advice to ensure optimal tax benefits for both the employer and employee. You will be responsible for structuring assignment and assignment policies from a tax and social security perspective. This includes conducting entry and exit meetings with expatriates/assignees, assisting with local registrations, preparing and filing personal tax returns, and ensuring compliance with assignment-related requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in providing advisory and compliance services for setting up liaison offices, visas, and social security. Additionally, you will need to have a thorough understanding of various tax treaties and apply relevant articles to finalize personnel tax returns and provide advisory services. Key Responsibilities: - Provide tax advice to optimize tax benefits for both employer and employee - Structure assignment policies from a tax and social security perspective - Conduct entry and exit meetings with expatriates/assignees - Assist with local registrations, personal tax returns, and assignment-related compliances - Offer advisory and compliance services for liaison offices, visas, and social security - Apply knowledge of tax treaties in finalizing personnel tax returns and advisory work - Develop tax-efficient compensation packages and advise on employee stock option plans - Assist clients with payroll and withholding tax compliance - Provide visa-related advisory and compliance assistance to employees - Offer advisory services related to FEMA for expatriates/individuals - Ensure periodic review of filings and documents from an internal perspective - Contribute to newspaper articles, knowledge management presentations, etc. - Coach and guide team members - Build rapport and working relationships with key client contacts - Assist management in risk compliance, internal reporting, and client administration Qualifications: - Qualified CA with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience - Good communication skills - Experience in individual taxation during articleship will be an added advantage Skills: - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Strong analytical skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment - Deliver multiple engagements with quality standards and within agreed timelines - Effective people and client management skills - Ability to interact with all levels across the organization As a Tax Advisor, your role involves providing tax advice to ensure optimal tax benefits for both the employer and employee.
