The Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching will oversee, coordinate and drive the delivery of excellent Learning and Teaching across The Language Gallery, ensuring academic staff deliver a high-quality academic experience to students and that the College meets the expectations of its regulators and awarding bodies for the quality of its learning, teaching and assessment across the College.
Key Responsibilities
To lead the development of blended provision including pedagogy and programme development.
To provide leadership for teaching, assessment and academic staff for curriculum development in collaboration with the Dean and Course Directors.
Ongoing upskilling of existing academic staff to assure student’s high-quality academic experience.
To support the development of the College’s education mission and academic strategies through the implementation and enhancement of excellent teaching, learning and assessment.
To lead the effective monitoring, evaluation and observation of of academic staff across the College to inform development.
To ensure the effective implementation of new educational technologies and techniques across programmes.
To keep abreast of academic, subject and industry developments in learning, teaching and assessment and able to implement these across the College.
To collaborate with the Dean and Course Directors on the appropriate processes for the recruitment and onboarding and development of academic staff
To strategically and operationally enhance student experience from pre-enrolment through to alumni.
To facilitate a network for academic staff, supporting enhancements to pedagogy and the curriculum, and facilitating pedagogical scholarship and research.
To support the implementation of TLG’s strategic plans, such as OfS Registration, the awarding of TDAP, and other regulatory requirements.
To support institutional growth and the development of academic programmes and courses.
To chair and/or be a member of appropriate committees and project to ensure effective learning, teaching and assessment.
Develop an Advance HE development programme to support academic staff in achieving their fellowship status.
To support the engagement and retention of students to ensure progression and attainment on the degree course.
