About the role:
Skills SA is the steward of South Australia's funded vocational education and training (VET) system, driving successful outcomes for individuals, the economy, and the wider community. It provides policy leadership for the South Australian VET sector by objectively assessing skill needs and strategically managing public investment to maximize skills development.
Working as part of the Analytics and Information Systems team, as the Senior Business Intelligence Project Officer, you will lead cross-functional analytics initiatives that inform VET policy, investment, and strategy. Your expertise in Power BI and SQL will be essential in transforming complex data into actionable insights that support evidence-based decision-making.
More specifically, you will:
Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance data reporting, visualisation, and analytical capabilities.
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for senior leadership.
Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary projects that support VET policy and investment.
Implement advanced data management and analytics strategies to drive continuous improvement.
Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Foster a positive, efficient, and collaborative team environment.
Key Competencies:

Advanced Power BI skills (DAX, data modelling, visualisation).
Strong SQL skills in complex data environments.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under broad direction.

Remuneration:
Competitive salary will be offered as $85, 7+0 to $+5, 413 pa plus superannuation

Qualifications:
Essential: Tertiary qualifications, or related experience, in a relevant discipline.
Desirable: Nil
Special Conditions:
This position will be offered as a full-time contract up to 2 years.
A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) and Working with Children Check will be required prior to employment.
