Role Overview:
As an Application Portfolio Manager specializing in R&D and Engineering IT for Mechanical CAD applications at HITACHI ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED, you will be responsible for owning and governing a global portfolio of Mechanical CAD and related engineering applications throughout their lifecycle. Your main duties will include ensuring service governance using ITIL practices, making lifecycle decisions, aligning roadmaps, evaluating vendor performance, and optimizing costs and licenses. A crucial aspect of your role will involve assessing, piloting, and scaling AI-enabled capabilities within CAD and engineering tools to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Service Managers, Product Owners, Engineering Business Stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, and strategic vendors to drive run excellence, modernization, rationalization, compliance, and future-ready innovation across the Mechanical CAD ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and govern the Mechanical CAD application portfolio throughout its lifecycle
- Define and maintain portfolio strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle positioning
- Ensure ITIL-based service governance covering incidents, problems, changes, releases, and service level management
- Drive service stability, availability, performance, and compliance
- Evaluate and implement AI and generative AI capabilities within CAD and engineering tools
- Collaborate with vendors and engineering stakeholders to pilot and scale AI-driven capabilities
- Utilize analytics to enhance portfolio insights, demand analysis, and decision-making
- Act as the primary interface for strategic CAD vendors and align roadmaps
- Optimize portfolio budget, total cost of ownership, and financial transparency
- Monitor and optimize software license usage and compliance
- Govern the onboarding of new applications into the run organization
- Contribute to standardization, rationalization, and transformation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines
- Facilitate user adoption through effective communication and knowledge sharing
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors or masters degree in information systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 815 years of experience in application, service, or portfolio management in a global environment
- Strong exposure to Mechanical CAD, engineering authoring tools, or PLM landscapes
- Proven experience with ITIL-based application lifecycle governance
- Hands-on experience with AI-enabled features and analytics in engineering or IT operations
- Experience in managing strategic vendors and global stakeholders
- Solid understanding of budgeting and license optimization concepts
- Working knowledge of Agile / SAFe methodologies; ITIL or Agile certifications are a plus
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language
