Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and advanced knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, supervisory experience required
3-5 years of accounting experience with a background in public accounting, 5-7 years of experience in industry with no public accounting

Areas of work and oversight include accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger
Perform and review complex accounting analyses, journal entries, and reconciliations
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal control compliance
Coordinate and prepare for audits, including liaising with external auditors
Work with the Assistant Controller to supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff to ensure the team’s effectiveness and professional growth
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function
Handle other ad hoc financial projects as assigned

Based in Baxter Springs, KS near the rapidly expanding Joplin, MO area, the Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and play a key role in driving and providing accurate financial reporting for the largest manufacturing facility within the $450mm+ Group of companies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
• Areas of work and oversight include accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
• Perform and review complex accounting analyses, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal control compliance.
