What You’ll Do:
• The Accountant is responsible for providing confidential accounting services to support the integrity of the financial services of Canada West and its group of companies. They will provide accounting and administrative support to finance team members as well as the office.
• This is a permanent, full-time position based in our St. Albert, Alberta corporate office, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
• Provides general full-cycle accounting support, including month-end and year-end preparation
• Ensures Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions are completed accurately and approved in accordance with company policy for all accounts.
• Ensures expenses are reconciled and issued in accordance with accepted company policy and procedures.
• Support for daily cash reconciliation and compilation of reports.
• Complete bank and general ledgers reconciliation.
• Prepare and file GST returns.
• Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for the accounting department.
• Oversees and supports administrative duties and procedures to ensure smooth office operations.
• Shares knowledge and provides support to other accounting team members.
• Other duties as required.

What you bring:

Qualifications Experience:
• A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, and
• Minimum 3 to 5 years full-cycle accounting experience.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or other accounting software.
• Strong Microsoft Suite skills – Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.
• Experience with multi-company and intercompany accounting transactions is considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of real estate management software is considered an asset.
• Experience with real estate accounting is considered an asset.

• Strong team spirit, excellent communication, and proactive attitude.
• Strong time management skills and ability to see tasks through on schedule and within company policy and procedures.
• Work in collaboration with all members of the business and the finance team to identify effective financial controls.
