About the role
SVdPSHA is looking for a full-time accountant to join our finance team. The accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, compliance with accounting policies, and support for financial reporting and budgeting activities. The role contributes to the integrity of financial records and assists management in achieving organisational objectives through effective financial administration.
Key responsibilities
Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Manage billing activities and ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
Prepare and process month-end journals and accruals.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with revenue recognition and intercompany transaction accounting in accordance with organisational policies and accounting standards.
Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate asset accounting.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and financial analysis.
Support the preparation of statutory and regulatory reports.
Assist with taxation obligations, including preparation of BAS and related schedules.
Maintain accounting records in compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational policies.
About you
Minimum 3-5 years financial accounting experience in similar role (preferably in Not for profit)
Degree in Accounting or equivalent, with a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CA, CPA) or working towards it.
Previous experience or familiarity working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be highly regarded.
Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and accounting practices
Strong understanding of accounting regulations and compliance
Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams
Strong reconciliation skills.
