Job Description
We are currently hiring experienced, reliable, and highly organized Wedding Venue Managers to oversee operations at our private estate wedding venues.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be the primary on-site representative for Backyardify during events and will be responsible for ensuring the property, staff, vendors, and venue operations run smoothly from beginning to end.
Responsibilities
As a Venue Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the primary Backyardify representative on-site during weddings and events
Overseeing the venue from vendor arrival and setup through event completion and teardown
Managing and directing parking and event attendants throughout their shifts
Coordinating vendor arrivals, access, parking, loading and unloading
Communicating with wedding planners, coordinators, caterers, DJs, decorators, photographers and other vendors
Ensuring the venue is properly prepared before guest arrival
Conducting walkthroughs of ceremony, cocktail hour and reception areas
Monitoring venue cleanliness and presentation throughout the event
Ensuring washroom facilities, garbage areas, parking areas and common spaces remain properly maintained
Coordinating guest parking, shuttle transportation and golf cart operations where applicable
Helping manage transitions between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception
Monitoring venue rules, timelines, property restrictions and event end times
Identifying and resolving operational issues quickly and professionally
Communicating any important issues directly to Backyardify management
Supervising end-of-night cleanup and ensuring the property is left organized and secure
Completing a final walkthrough of the property at the end of the event
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is confident, professional, extremely reliable and comfortable taking charge.
The ideal candidate:
Has previous experience in weddings, hospitality, event management, venue operations or a similar leadership role
Is highly organized and detail-oriented
Can confidently manage and delegate tasks to a team
Has strong communication and problem-solving skills
Remains calm and professional in fast-paced environments
Is comfortable communicating directly with clients, wedding planners and vendors
Takes initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
Is punctual and dependable
Is comfortable working long wedding-day shifts
Speaks fluent/proficient English
Has a valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle
Is available primarily on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during wedding season
Previous wedding or event management experience is strongly preferred.
Pay: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
