About the Role
As the Nuclear Medicine Unit Charge, you will lead a skilled and dedicated team, managing day-to-day operations and providing guidance and support to technologists and trainees.
In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the Nuclear Medicine Specialist, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service delivery. You'll also be an integral part of the Radiology Management team, alongside the Operations Manager and other Unit Charges. We meet regularly, support each other, and collaborate to overcome challenges and make the most of opportunities.
About the Team/Service Location
Based at Wellington Regional Hospital, our Nuclear Medicine department is a dynamic and innovative service equipped with two Siemens dual-head SPECT/CT gamma cameras, both providing diagnostic CT support in collaboration with the Radiology CT team.
We prepare radiopharmaceuticals on-site and perform approximately 2,500 procedures annually, offering a wide range of diagnostic imaging including skeletal, renal, cardiac, gastrointestinal, sentinel lymph node, and tumour imaging.
In addition to diagnostics, we deliver therapeutic procedures such as Iodine-131 and Yttrium-90, supporting advanced treatment options for our patients.
About you
Registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board and a current practising certificate.
Completion of a nationally recognised graduate qualification in Nuclear Medicine.
Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical standards and apply evidence-based practice.
Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and training.
