Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Freight Broker to develop new business, negotiate freight rates, and manage shipments from origin to destination. The ideal candidate has strong industry connections and a result-driven mindset.
Duties:
Prospect & Generate Leads: Identify potential clients and vendors through networking and outreach for new leads, including both LTL and FTL.
Carrier Monitoring & Vendor Management: Proactively seek out and onboard more competitive and reliable trucker vendors. Track shipments, resolve delays and billing issues, prepare bills of lading for merchandise delivery, and coordinate with carriers.
Client Relationship Management: Maintain real-time daily communication with clients and drivers, build long-term relationships with decision-makers, and understand their logistics needs.
Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate rates, secure competitive pricing for freight loads, manage client expectations, and close deals with a focus on long-term partnerships with clients and shippers.
Account Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction. Manage documentation, quality control, and schedule pick-up & delivery appointments.
Market Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, port operations, and supply chain best practices to provide expert guidance.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and sales skills with a proven ability to close deals.
Knowledge of industry regulations and freight operations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong time management skills.
Sales management/outside sales experience.
Experience in truck brokerage.
Familiarity with platforms such as DAT, Truckstop, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
