COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Hitech Systems, established in 2007, is an engineering and technical services contracting firm serving government and public sector clients across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region — principally BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), MCGM/BMC and CIDCO. Our work spans electrical installations, HVAC and ventilation, fire safety, CCTV surveillance, mechanical O&M, biogas plant operations, and contract management and IT documentation services.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are hiring Technical Assistants for deployment at the Engineering Services Group (ESG), Technical Services Division, BARC, Trombay, Mumbai — under our ongoing works contract for contract management, IT upgradation and documentation.
This is a full-time, on-site position inside the BARC campus. You will work alongside departmental engineers, supporting them on existing desktop and web-based software systems. Importantly, this is not a programming role — no software coding or development is involved.
What you will do:
Assist divisional users in preparing documents on E-DOC software
Prepare measurement reports on WCMS (Works Contract Management System)
Work on CPPP and GeM procurement portals
Operate E-Office and other departmental applications
Typing of official letters and data entry in MS Word and E-DOC
Scanning, photocopying, paper filing and labelling
Preparation and binding of agreement books; indexing and sorting of records, tender books and files
Guide and support other departmental users on procedures within these systems
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential — these are contractual requirements verified by BARC from original documents, and cannot be relaxed:
Diploma, B.Sc., B.Tech., B.E. or BCA in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology or Data Science, with minimum 75% marks in the final qualifying examination
SSC (Class 10) passed with English and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, minimum 70% marks
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Indian national, able to clear BARC security and document verification
Willing and able to report daily to BARC, Trombay (Mumbai 400 085)
What we look for beyond the paperwork:
Ability to learn new desktop and web-based software quickly from help modules and on-the-job guidance
Accuracy and patience with repetitive documentation work — this role rewards care, not speed
Good conduct, punctuality, clean formal dress and personal discipline, as required inside a secure government facility
Freshers are welcome and encouraged to apply
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours: 09:00 to 18:30, Monday to Friday. Weekly off Saturday and Sunday.
Attendance is recorded by punch card at BARC North Gate and captured by departmental software.
Occasional working on Saturdays, Sundays or beyond normal hours may be required depending on work exigency; extra hours are adjusted against shortfalls within the same month.
Computer, software, workspace, printer and plotter are provided by BARC. Internal shuttle transport and canteen facilities are available on campus.
COMPENSATION
Wages are attendance-based and paid per day of work performed, at the Skilled category minimum wage rates notified for Area 'A' (Greater Mumbai including Navi Mumbai), comprising Basic Wages plus Variable Dearness Allowance, . EPF, ESIC (if applicable) and statutory benefits as per the Code on Wages 2019 and Code on Social Security 2020. Wages credited within ten days of the wage month end, with wage slip issued.
Employment is full-time for the currency of the Company's contract with BARC.
