About the role
As the Team Leader, you will join the leadership group to guide team members, drive strategic goals, and provide operational management under the guidance of the Program Manager. You will oversee the delivery of comprehensive mental health assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service operates a consultation-liaison psychiatry model for children and youth aged 0 to 17 years old. The team works with young people admitted to the Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s (JKWC) hospital, those linked with a Western Health paediatrician, or individuals presenting to the paediatric emergency department at Sunshine Hospital. This team provides vital specialist care, individual therapy, parent work, and family interventions during critical moments of need.
Key responsibilities
Provide operational supervision, mentoring, and clinical leadership to staff.
Coordinate team shifts, manage handovers, and complete required administrative tasks and reporting.
Support the development of care pathways and the implementation of continuous improvement projects.
Apply advanced specialist knowledge to manage complex clinical issues, including Dual Diagnosis.
Deliver discipline-specific interventions and collaborate with families, carers, and partners on Individual Recovery Plans.
Support the safe administration and supervision of medication (nursing discipline only).
Manage designated portfolios aligned with discipline specialities and professional interests.
Build strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

You are a self-motivated, adaptable clinical leader with high performance standards and excellent problem-solving skills. You possess strong communication abilities, work effectively in multidisciplinary environments, and have a proven capacity to handle complex, evolving situations.
