About Us:

At AKA, our commitment is to provide a safe and enriching early childhood learning environment. A charitable trust, we deliver exceptional, play-based and safe learning experiences in our 112 kindergartens and KiNZ centres across Tāmaki Makaurau. We are proud of our strong bicultural foundation, and our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, localised curriculum, culture and identity.

About Northcote Central Kindergarten:

Our beautiful kindergarten is a hidden gem in the heart of Northcote Central, providing an oasis of learning, play, and discovery in a rapidly growing suburb. We celebrate cultural diversity, strong whānau connections, and a deep respect for the environment as an Enviroschool, where sustainable practices and mātauranga Māori are woven into our daily teaching.

The Role:

We are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Teacher Aide to join our dedicated team on a permanent, part-time basis (10 hours per week). We value energy, initiative, flexibility, and strong ICT skills to support documentation preparation.

Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience in working with young tamarik, preferably in a Kindergarten or Early Childhood Education setting.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to listen, explain, and build positive relationships.
Flexibility, adaptability, tolerance, and perseverance are essential qualities.
Commitment to delivering a high-quality AKA Kindergarten service aligned with our philosophy of learning through play.
Team player with attention to detail, confidentiality, and an understanding of AKA’s mission and values.
