Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial management skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Duties

Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and budgets in accordance with established guidelines.
Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation.
Perform accrual accounting tasks, including adjusting entries for revenue and expenses.
Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights based on financial analysis.
Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
Utilize Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online software for bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks.
Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and regulations.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Experience

Proven experience in financial management or accounting roles is preferred.
Familiarity with payroll processes and regulations is advantageous.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online or similar accounting software is a plus.
Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is desirable but not required.
Proficiency in understanding debits, credits, and general ledger functions is essential.
Demonstrated ability in budgeting processes and financial forecasting is beneficial.
