Job Overview

Sequel Med Tech is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-driven Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced and mission-driven Finance team. In this highly visible role, you'll help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, support critical month-end and year-end processes, and collaborate across teams to drive operational excellence. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a strong financial foundation for a rapidly growing company that's making a difference in the lives of patients every day.

This is a great opportunity for a proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to grow within a dynamic, scaling organization.

Please note that this is a hybrid role, with the expectation for employees to be onsite at least 2-3 days/week in our Manchester, NH headquarters. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Assist in monthly closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare detailed, audit-ready documentation.

Create and manage financial reports using Excel tools such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to analyze and present data.

Provide on-site and virtual support during internal and third-party audits, ensuring timely access to accurate records and documentation.

Partner with Accounts Payable to ensure invoices and payment requests are received, reviewed, and verified.

Maintain and document accounting transactions related to stock-based compensation and incentive compensation.

Review financial transactions to ensure proper general ledger coding, accuracy, and policy compliance.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and receipts in coordination with Procurement and Finance.

Champion strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners to gather data, answer questions, and troubleshoot issues during the close cycle.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in accounting roles.

Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (preferably Netsuite).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience working in a commercial-stage pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or related regulated healthcare industry preferred

Previous experience working in a fast-growing startup environment (preferred but not required)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail.

Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles

Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with enterprise-level accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).

Excel Skills: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, and reconciliation tasks.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of non-public and regulated data.
