Job description
The Ministry of Defence is seeking a Solution Architect to assist with the delivery of one of our projects in our Information Domain. This role is for a fixed term of 2 years.
About Us
We are the Government's lead civilian advisor on defence. We also purchase major equipment which becomes a capability when it is used by those in service of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).
About the Role
This Solution Architect role is a great opportunity to join a high-profile project for Defence in our Capability Delivery Division. In this role, you will be working to support one of the projects delivering a number of design artefacts.
Key Responsibilities
Design of architecture solutions and scoping their implementation while ensuring a cohesive approach is applied.
Collaboration with the project lead and other architects to understand user and system requirements, identify solution options and scope implementation plans.
Contribution to architecture deliverables, with experience across multiple technology domains including application, infrastructure, networks, cloud, security, operations and management.
Alignment with technical strategies, preferences and standards of the NZDF Information Command.
Requirements
Proven experience working as an Architect on complex technical, communications and information technology projects.
Knowledge of commonly used architecture methods or frameworks, practices and procedures used for defining and estimating solution architecture activities.
A pragmatic approach to solution architecture development.
Attention to detail and ability to bring things to a conclusion.
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/or product lifecycle.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining internal and external relationships.
Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively.
