Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on accounts payable, tax compliance, and financial auditing. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in budget preparation, account analysis, and the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties

Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Prepare and file tax returns while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct thorough account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Perform financial auditing to ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Prepare comprehensive financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
Assist in the budgeting process by providing insights based on historical data and trends.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information necessary for reporting.
Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
Proven experience in accounting roles, particularly in accounts payable, tax preparation, and financial auditing.
Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in budgeting processes and account analysis techniques.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with financial services software is a plus.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
