Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
Manage aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes.
Analyze general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Support the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
Assist with process improvements and implementation of best practices within the accounting function.
Collaborate with project managers to provide timely financial insights, identify cost overruns, and support budget-to-actual analysis.
Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
Maintain job cost tracking and ensure accurate allocation of costs to appropriate projects.
Prepare and analyze WIP schedules; assist in revenue recognition using percentage of completion methods.
Ensure compliance with sales/use tax, local business licenses, and other regulatory filings.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction or a related field.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Business Central is strongly preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems proactively.
Preferred Skills Experience:

Experience in a mid-to-large size company or public accounting firm.
Knowledge of internal controls.
Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency consolidations.
Familiarity with percentage of completion and job costing in a construction environment.
Estimated Salary: $105,000 - $120,000/year, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
