Position Summary
As an Audio/Software Engineer you complete in-vehicle tunings of Cerence speech enhancement technologies for ASR, hands-free telephony and in-car communication applications and following qualification according to several standards. You support our customers onsite in India and abroad. Part of your tasks is also the development and adaptation of tuning and test tools.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
• Review of the audio architecture for hands-free telephony, Voice Recognition and in-car communication applications in close cooperation with the customer
• Analysis of customer and third-party requirements test reports
• Configuration and tuning of Cerence’s speech enhancement solutions according to customer requirements
• Qualification of hands-free systems according to VDA, ITU P.1100 and P.1110 standards and other 3rd party requirements (e.g. Apple CarPlay)
• Development and adaptation of test tools and existing test scripts
• Setup of customer demonstrations und support of technology evaluations
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Education:
The candidate should have a bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering, communications technology or in a related field; industry experience in one of these domains is preferred. An academic background in digital signal processing, speech and audio processing is desired.
Minimum years of work experience: 3
Required skills:
• Academic background in digital signal processing, speech and audio processing or similar
• Programming skills in MATLAB, Python and C / C++
• Good communicator who can represent Cerence professional services with customers
• Ability and willingness to travel across-boarder and internationally
• Good/excellent language skills in English
• Positive can-do attitude and ability to work in a team
Preferred skills:
• Experience in software development for embedded systems in either automotive, consumer electronics or telecommunications
• Familiarity with embedded HW and operating systems (in particular QNX, Android, embedded Linux) is a plus
• Experience with the qualification of hands-free telephony systems according to VDA or ITU-T P.1100/ P.1110 standards
• Knowledge of audio/speech enhancement processing components deployed in hands-free telephony solutions
• Professional experience in the automotive industry
