Job Description:
The Senior Resident - General Surgery is responsible for providing high-quality surgical care to patients under the supervision of attending physicians. The role involves performing surgical procedures, managing patient care, and participating in educational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform surgical procedures under the supervision of attending physicians
- Manage patient care, including pre-operative and post-operative care
- Participate in rounds, conferences, and educational activities
- Supervise and teach junior residents and medical students
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
- Maintain professional development and stay up-to-date with advances in surgical techniques and technology
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of a residency program in general surgery
- Board certification or eligibility in general surgery
- Strong surgical skills and knowledge of surgical techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement
