Senior Procurement Lead
Job Description
Commercial focused role
Fast growing business
We are excited to partner with a leading New Zealand healthcare organisation to appoint a Senior Procurement Lead in a newly created role. This is a high-impact position that will work across a diverse group of healthcare businesses, supporting critical procurement initiatives, supplier relationships, and commercial outcomes that directly contribute to organisational performance. This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington.
You will lead end-to-end procurement processes across the whole business from medical products to IT, from opportunity identification and market analysis through to sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and implementation. Alongside delivering procurement outcomes, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the procurement function through continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancement, supplier performance management, strategic sourcing activities, and the development of procurement frameworks and best practice.
Working closely with the Group Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering procurement strategy while leading complex procurement activities across a broad range of spend categories. The role offers a unique combination of strategic influence and hands-on delivery, providing exposure to senior stakeholders, significant supplier relationships, and organisation-wide initiatives.
A significant part of the role involves partnering with operational leaders, finance teams, clinical stakeholders, and executive decision-makers to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for value creation, and ensure procurement solutions align with broader organisational objectives. Building trusted relationships, influencing stakeholders, and providing commercially sound advice will be central to your success.
This position will suit a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys operating in a strategic environment while remaining close to delivery. You will bring experience leading procurement projects, managing supplier relationships, and influencing stakeholders across complex organisations. Strong analytical capability, commercial judgement, and the ability to build credibility at all levels will be essential.
While experience within healthcare, aged care, or similarly complex service environments would be advantageous, we are also interested in candidates from broader commercial, infrastructure, professional services, FMCG, or corporate procurement backgrounds. What is most important is your ability to navigate complexity, build strong relationships, and deliver measurable value through procurement.
Joining this organisation offers the opportunity to contribute to a business that plays a critical role in the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. You will be part of a collaborative and values-driven environment that is committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional outcomes for the people in its care. The role also offers significant scope for professional growth and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of procurement within the organisation.
Opportunities like this are rare, so please apply online as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please call Kelsi on +64 27 376 0087.
You must be a New Zealand or Australian citizen, or hold a valid New Zealand work visa, to be considered for this position.
