Job Description

Job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Hardware Product Manager based in United States.

This is a senior product leadership role responsible for shaping the strategy and lifecycle of enterprise-grade, cloud-connected hardware products.

You will own a multi-year hardware platform roadmap spanning IoT gateways, sensors, cabling, accessories, and related technologies.

The role combines product strategy, commercial ownership, customer engagement, technical decision-making, and cross-functional leadership.

You will work directly with enterprise customers and operational executives to understand their needs and translate insights into scalable product solutions.

Your decisions will influence revenue growth, product adoption, margins, development priorities, and long-term platform direction.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, finance, and operations in a fast-moving, high-growth technology environment.

This is an opportunity to shape hardware products that improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of industries powering the global economy.

Accountabilities:

Own and execute a multi-year product roadmap for connected hardware platforms, including advanced IoT gateways, sensors, cabling, and accessories, from initial concept through launch and end-of-life.

Define product strategy based on customer needs, market trends, business priorities, competitive dynamics, and relevant fleet or operational data.

Engage directly with enterprise customers and operational executives through strategic meetings, field visits, executive briefings, and customer discovery activities.

Partner with sales teams on strategic opportunities, helping shape solutions, overcome complex customer requirements, and drive successful commercial outcomes.

Maintain commercial ownership of the hardware portfolio, including revenue growth, attach rates, cost targets, margin objectives, and business cases for new product introductions.

Evaluate and manage tradeoffs between product features, cost, development risk, technical performance, customer value, and delivery timelines.

Align Sales, Marketing/GTM, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders around a unified hardware strategy and executable roadmap.

Lead field validation, sales readiness, launch planning, and go-to-market activities in partnership with engineering, marketing, and operations teams.

Collaborate with software and application product teams to develop solutions that effectively connect cloud platforms with edge hardware.

Use customer research, market intelligence, interviews, field observations, and data analytics to prioritize investments and establish long-term platform strategy.

Mentor early-career product managers and contribute to strengthening product management practices across the organization.

Champion a customer-focused, long-term, growth-oriented, inclusive, and team-driven culture as the organization scales.

Requirements

7+ years of product management experience, including significant experience managing enterprise-grade, cloud-connected hardware products.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical discipline.

Demonstrated track record of launching commercially successful enterprise IT, IoT, or connected hardware products.

Experience managing large-scale commercial product lines, ideally involving $100M+ in company or product-line revenue.

Strong business acumen and the ability to balance product features, cost, technical performance, development risk, customer requirements, and commercial objectives.

Proven ability to align Sales, Marketing/GTM, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams around a shared product strategy.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging customers, partners, executives, and internal stakeholders at all levels.

Strong customer orientation and curiosity, with experience gathering insights through field visits, interviews, research, analytics, and direct customer engagement.

Bias toward action, strong ownership, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

10+ years of product management experience with enterprise, cloud-connected hardware is preferred.

A software or hardware engineering background combined with a transition into product management through professional experience or an MBA is advantageous.

Knowledge of automotive and heavy-duty vehicle connectivity technologies, including CAN bus, OBD-II/J1939, telematics, sensors, wireless technologies, and edge AI, is highly desirable.

Familiarity with contract manufacturing
