You'll be a hands on embedded engineer, working primarily with C on Linux, writing drivers across a variety if I/O interfaces, and working on a flight computer project. You'll be working close to the hardware, and will be trusted by management to work autonomously and create solutions to the technical challenges yourself.
You wont be siloed - there is a number of different projects for you to work on, encompassing driver development, flight software, and the hardware in the loop test systems that they use.
You will have the opportunity to act as a technical lead, whilst mentoring junior engineers. They have clear career paths for engineer who want to stay hands on, and for those who are interested in management.
The base salary for this role is in the region of $160k - $180k, and the role is based full time on site in Herndon, Virginia.
What you'll do
• Develop embedded C on Linux, with a focus on driver development on multiple I/O interfaces
• Work on flight software and flight computer product development
• Work on HIL systems to validate space hardware
• Mentor junior engineers
What you'll need
• 6+ years experience in embedded software development
• Strong experience with both Embedded C and Linux
• Device driver development
• RTOS experience
• Ability to work across the software / hardware line - board bring up, and debug
