Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

• Custom Residential Design Excellence: Focus on the unique challenges and opportunities of custom residential design, ensuring that each project reflects the individuality of the client while pushing the boundaries of creativity and sustainability.
• Design Development: Take the lead in developing designs into detailed construction drawing packages, ensuring technical accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
• Planning and Approvals: Navigate the planning process, including conservation requirements, municipal approvals, and variance applications, ensuring all designs comply with regulatory and site-specific requirements while integrating creative solutions.
• Collaboration Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of the project vision. Encourage collaboration to refine and enhance designs, building long-term partnerships based on trust and shared success.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior designers and team members, providing guidance on design development, technical drawing preparation, and client presentations, ensuring their growth and success within the firm.
• Construction Documentation: Prepare comprehensive, clear, and accurate construction documentation packages, including drawings, details, and specifications that reflect the design vision while maintaining technical rigor.
• Coordination with Consultants: Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and other project teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements across all phases of the project.
• Quality Control Innovation: Oversee the quality of work across all projects, ensuring that all designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards. Encourage the integration of innovative, forward-thinking solutions in every project.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience leading architectural design projects, with a focus on luxury, large-scale, complex custom residential properties.
• Expertise in conceptual design, with a proven ability to develop innovative, high-quality design solutions that push creative boundaries while meeting client goals.
• Strong experience in construction documentation, preparing detailed drawing packages for large projects with a focus on accuracy and design intent.
• In-depth knowledge of municipal planning processes, including conservation guidelines, variance applications, and other regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Lumion).
