Ride Mechanic I
Job Description
Responsible for the safety and maintenance of Boardwalk rides, equipment and machinery.
Under general supervision, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on Boardwalk rides. Must be able to operate all amusement rides and perform the most difficult and technical ride maintenance.
Unique Job Requirements
Must be able to work as part of a team. Works inside and outside in varying weather conditions. Some positions require constant physically demanding work that requires climbing. Works around dust and chemical fumes. May be required to wear respirators, hardhats, gloves, boots, belts, dust masks, goggles, and ear plugs as work conditions vary. May work in small confined area at times. Wears company issued uniform. May be required to work overtime. Will be required to work weekends and holidays.
Ride Mechanic l
Perform visual inspections of assigned rides and attractions.
Perform ride maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
Visually inspect and listen to rides, machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Operate every ride in case of emergency as trained.
Maintain a daily log of maintenance work performed as well as accurate records of preventative maintenance.
May operate company vehicles on and off site and operate other support equipment including forklifts, motorized carts, personnel lift, etc.
May weld and fabricate with various materials.
Perform a wide variety of manual labor tasks such as move, install and disassemble equipment.
Attend technical training.
Other duties as assigned.
Training And Experience
Ride Mechanic l - Three years of mechanical maintenance or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of mechanical systems.
Knowledge of steel fabrication and welding.
Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
Ability to maintain and repair rides and attractions.
Ability to perform daily maintenance safety inspections per predetermined procedures.
Ability to follow safety practices and proper lifting procedures.
Ability to operate all rides and trouble shoot ride problems.
Ability to obtain and maintain Ride Inspector Certification.
Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to document tasks performed and/or findings.
Ability to complete in service training sponsored by manufacturers and or by AIMS or by others.
Ability to work as part of a team and provide consistent, friendly and helpful attitude.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements
Able to stand and walk for 7 and one half hours.
Able to work in confined spaces.
Able to occasionally lift up to +0 pounds from ground to waist height.
Able to occasionally carry up to +0 pounds.
Bi-manual dexterity.
Able to climb 125 feet and work at heights.
Able to smell or detect odors/fumes from various chemicals.
Able to safely perform heavy, physically demanding work; climbing, crawling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting materials and equipment.
LICENSES AND INSURANCE
Valid U.S. Driver's License at time of hire.
TESTING
Written Maintenance test: 80% passing score

respirator exam
criminal background check
DMV printout required and proof of valid Driver's License.
