Maintenance & Reliability Engineer
Summary
The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the reliability, availability, and performance of physical assets through effective maintenance strategies, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and planning teams to optimize asset performance, reduce unplanned downtime, manage lifecycle costs, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Maintenance Strategy
Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies for critical assets.
Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Review asset criticality and maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability.
Monitor asset performance using KPIs including availability, reliability, utilization, maintenance costs, MTBF, and MTTR.
Support lifecycle asset management and long-term equipment strategies.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Lead investigations into equipment failures and recurring reliability issues.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis using methodologies such as RCA, 5 Whys, FMEA, and Pareto Analysis.
Develop corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring failures.
Track implementation and effectiveness of improvement actions.
Asset Performance & Condition Monitoring
Develop and support condition monitoring programs including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound, and other predictive technologies.
Monitor equipment health and identify early indicators of failure.
Recommend maintenance interventions based on equipment condition and performance data.
Support continuous improvement of predictive maintenance practices.
