Job Description
We are looking for an experienced CIAM Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Auth0 to manage, enhance, and support enterprise customer identity and access management solutions.
The role will focus on the day-to-day operation of Auth0 environments, authentication and authorization integrations, troubleshooting complex identity issues, and automating identity infrastructure through modern DevOps practices.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience working with identity platforms and a strong understanding of modern authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, PKCE, and SAML. The individual should be comfortable supporting business-critical authentication services across multiple environments and resolving production incidents.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain Auth0 tenants, applications, connections, APIs, configurations, and environments.
• Manage customer identity lifecycle, authentication policies, access controls, and tenant-level configurations.
• Design, configure, and support authentication and federation integrations using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), PKCE, and SAML.
• Diagnose and resolve authentication-related issues including login failures, token validation errors, federation problems, session issues, and access failures.
• Build and maintain Auth0 Actions, custom authentication logic, token transformations, and custom claims.
• Configure and enhance authentication journeys including MFA, passwordless authentication, adaptive authentication, and OTP-based flows.
• Integrate external authentication and messaging services, including SMS/OTP providers such as Twilio.
• Automate Auth0 configuration and environment management using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Build and maintain deployment workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Support authentication solutions across development, SIT, UAT, pre-production, and production environments.
• Monitor authentication services, logs, alerts, and platform health using monitoring and observability tools such as Spyglass or equivalent platforms.
• Investigate and resolve P1/P2 incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
• Manage operational requests, incidents, and changes through ServiceNow (SNOW) while following ITIL-based processes.
• Work closely with application development, security, platform engineering, and DevOps teams to integrate identity services into applications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and support runbooks.
• Participate in an on-call / 24x7 production support rotation for critical identity services.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, CIAM, application security, or related areas.
• Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting the Auth0 CIAM platform.
• Deep understanding of modern identity and authentication standards including:
• OAuth 2.0
• OpenID Connect (OIDC)
• PKCE
• SAML
• Experience configuring and modifying authentication, authorization, and federation workflows.
• Hands-on experience developing and managing Auth0 Actions and custom authentication extensions.
• Experience with token customization, scopes, permissions, roles, and claims mapping.
• Experience implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), adaptive authentication, passwordless authentication, and OTP flows.
• Experience integrating external SMS/OTP providers such as Twilio.
• Practical experience with Terraform for infrastructure and configuration automation.
• Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Node.js / JavaScript, particularly for Auth0 Actions and identity customization.
• Working knowledge of Python scripting for automation and operational tasks.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based application environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across authentication flows, APIs, tokens, browser sessions, logs, and federation integrations.
• Experience working with ServiceNow (SNOW) and ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
