Role Description The Registered Nurse (RGN) — General and Specialist Wards role is a temporary, on-site position based in London. In this role, the nurse provides high-quality, person-centered care across general and specialist wards, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans. Daily responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with local policies and professional standards. The nurse supports patients and their families with clear communication, education, and advocacy, while promoting safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical guidelines. The role may involve working shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, depending on service needs.
Qualifications
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and eligibility to practice in the UK.
• Demonstrated experience in general and/or specialist wards, with strong clinical assessment, care planning, and patient monitoring skills.
• Proficiency in safe medication administration, infection prevention and control, and adherence to clinical and safeguarding policies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and support patients, families, and carers.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities, work under pressure, and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, and adherence to ethical and professional nursing standards.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts and adapt to different ward environments; previous NHS or UK hospital experience is advantageous.
• Up-to-date mandatory training (e.g., basic life support, manual handling) and right to work in the UK; further specialist certifications are a plus.
