Douglas Law Firm is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Real Estate Law Clerk to join our growing team at our Vaughan office. This is a full-time, in-office position for an individual with a minimum of five (5) years of experience handling Ontario residential real estate transactions from start to finish with a capacity/knowledge to close minimum 25+ deals per month.

Responsibilities

Manage residential purchase, sale, mortgage, and refinance files from opening to closing.
Prepare all legal documentation, correspondence, and closing packages.
Communicate professionally with clients, lenders, real estate agents, and opposing counsel.
Review agreements, mortgage instructions, title searches, requisitions, and closing documents.
Calculate adjustments, prepare statements of account, and coordinate trust funds.
Ensure files are completed accurately and within required timelines.
Assist lawyers with day-to-day file management and client service.
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience as an Ontario residential real estate law clerk.
Thorough understanding of the residential real estate closing process from start to finish.
Proficiency with LDD is considered and asset and experience with Teraview is required.
Experience with legal practice management software is considered an asset.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
