Step into a unique opportunity to support the future of resource management across Northland. The four Northland councils, Whangārei District, Kaipara District, Far North District, and Northland Regional Council are working together to deliver a region-wide Resource Management Reform Programme in response to the Government's new legislation replacing the Resource Management Act 1991. In this fixed-term, part-time role (18.75 hours per week for two years) you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this transformational programme, helping to keep workstreams connected, information flowing, governance processes running smoothly, and programme activities on track.

Working closely with the Programme Manager and staff across the four councils, you will provide high-quality administrative, governance, and programme coordination to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of programme activities. You will coordinate meetings, maintain programme records and documentation, track actions and key deliverables, support reporting requirements, and facilitate effective communication across the programme This role is ideal for a highly organised professional who thrives in a complex environment and takes pride in providing the support that enables successful programme outcomes. The hours of work are 18.75 per week, to be worked Monday to Thursday. We are open to discussing the arrangement of these hours.

To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in administration and project, or programme coordination, ideally within a complex organisational environment. You will be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications is essential as is the ability to pick up new systems quickly. You will be skilled at building effective working relationships with a diverse range of people, demonstrating cultural awareness and empathy, and be comfortable working in a collaborative environment that is evolving and, at times, ambiguous. Experience in local government or the public sector would be an advantage.
