As Production Manager on the afternoon shift, you will engage, develop, and lead your team to deliver world-class products. As a leader within the business, you will drive best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiencies and improve operational performance.
With a focus on safety and a passion for quality, you will partner with stakeholders to deliver consistent results by living the principles of being open, honest, and collaborative.
Our Murarrie site currently processes 1.4 million birds a week and this role will lead a team of Six Supervisors with responsibility for up to 500 staff across the shift. If you have managed similar-sized teams in a busy food manufacturing environment, we are keen to hear from you!

Responsibilities include:

Engage, lead, motivate, and develop your team through effective people management strategies ensuring the capability of people to achieve individual, team, and overall site objectives
Involve the team by encouraging and motivating them to deliver safety excellence and promote risk awareness
Drive performance daily across the further processing facility ensuring delivery on time-sensitive production deadlines.
Ensure that the labour cost base is the most productive, efficient, and cost-competitive for the industry
Assist in the development of reporting for key operational indicators including labour optimization, overtime, throughput rates, and inventory control
Identify, drive, and embed continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency programs
Monitor spend and keep within budget, seeking approval for out-of-scope spend
Working cross-functionally, building strong relationships with different stakeholders, and working as one team.
You will bring to this role:

Experience in managing a manufacturing facility with a proven track record of achieving positive operational outcomes
Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies, and reliability
Inclusive in management style, with the capabilities to engage a large team and create a collaborative working environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate cross-functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
Excellent analytical skills with the strong capabilities of working with multiple pieces of data and transforming them into meaningful relevant information for employees to understand
Proven track record of achieving departmental business plans and productivity agendas
Implemented and promoted continuous improvement initiatives, familiar with a culture of 5S, TPM, LEAN/Six Sigma
Degree qualified in relevant discipline desirable but not essential.
