Job Summary:
· The Principal Software Engineer role is focused to maintain and upgrade the existing Xanite product set. The Role will be responsible to resolve software issues, improving the functionality of existing software, and ensuring that the design, application, and maintenance of software meets the quality standards of the company. Also be able to mentor, guide, and train other engineers.
· The role should be able to evaluate the user’s needs, time limitations, and system limitations when developing software. Needs to be up to date on new technologies and software development practices. The role will work for the Equiniti UK Development Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
· Designing, coding, and debugging software.
· Maintaining and upgrading existing software.
· Improving the performance of existing software.
· Recommending new technologies that can help increase productivity.
· Providing training to other engineers.
· Taking care of performance tuning of the application providing solutions to others.
· Supervising and overseeing the technical aspects of projects.
· Investigating software-related complaints and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal software performance.
· Regularly attending team meetings to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas, and put forward solutions to any issues.
· Track record of successful delivery of software projects
· Knowledge of common SDLCs and how to apply them in a delivery context
· Knowledge of/experience in working with different software delivery models
· Ability to work calmly and methodically even under pressure.
Qualification / skills required:
· BE/ME/MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science with an excellent track record.
· Should have an overall 7+ years of experience in developing applications on the Java technology stack.
· Java / J2EE
· Sprint / Hibernate frameworks
· Spring Batch
· Microservices, MSSQL
· Proficient in SOAP and REST APIs – JSON
· Apache Tomcat
· IDEs – NetBeans/Eclipse, MSSQL
· Jenkins, Version control Systems (SVN, GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.)
· Unit / Integration and system testing
· Agile (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, DSDM) , TDD , JMeter
· Automation / Load Testing
· Selenium
· Visual Studio, TFS, MT
· Experience in the Financial sector
