Responsibilities
• Plan and fearlessly experiment with pastry and bakery products, from bread and viennoiserie to cookies and cakes, that complement our star product – Gelato.
• Develop recipes that meet the highest standards of taste, texture and presentation.
• Oversee the day-to-day baking and pastry production, ensuring consistency and freshness.
• Set the quality bar sky-high. Your obsession with perfection, from choosing premium ingredients to implementing rigorous quality control measures, will elevate our products.
• Collaborate with our culinary team to curate a menu that captivates our customers. Bring your insights into the latest pastry trends, ensuring our offerings are always ahead of the curve.
• Manage ingredient inventory, order supplies as needed, and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.
• Implement and enforce strict hygiene and safety protocols to guarantee a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
• You’re a master of flour with a minimum experience of 2 years in crafting pastries and bread in a high-volume, quality-focused setting.
• Formal education or certification in Baking and Pastry Arts is an added bonus.
• A creative genius who thrives on pushing the boundaries of pastry artistry.
• You’re a stickler for quality – your pastries should not just taste good but create a sensory experience.
• You take pride in your product but are open to constructive feedback and change
• Knowledgeable about ingredients, production processes, quality control and costs.
• Auditory and Visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency
• You appreciate startup culture; willing to wear multiple hats and take on diverse roles and changing priorities
• You’re a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude
