About the Role
Parking Wardens play a vital role in our community, ensuring that our parking spaces are managed fairly for everyone. As a Parking Warden, you get to make a difference to the users of our parking spaces, enabling all to use the city fairly and with consideration for others.
This role is full time, working Sunday to Thursday.
As a parking warden, you get to be out in the fresh air and be an ambassador for the City. We are planning on moving to some car-based work as new technology becomes available. Your work supports local businesses to get access to customers through managing the parking around their shops, and you also get to be a visible part of the community, as the face of the City Council
An important part of being a parking warden is enforcement. You'll carry out all aspects of enforcing parking bylaws and stationary vehicle offences including equipment fault reporting and responding to parking complaints and enquiries.
Eventually, we'd also like you to assist with administration and adjudication work within the team as required.
This is a great role if you enjoy dealing with people and love a job that builds your fitness along with your strong sense of fairness and ability to be resilient under pressure. Your customer focus, ability to get out and about will be outshone only by your empathy and enthusiasm.
About You
Your customer focus, ability to get out and about will be outshone only by your empathy and enthusiasm. You will have great skills using device technology and it would be great if you have worked in a similar position previously.
The successful applicant will possess -
A full class 1 drivers license - you'll work a roster that varies from foot patrol to mobile patrols in the suburbs
The ability work flexible/shift hours - we are open to someone who would like to work Sundays through to Thursdays, 08:30-17:00. There is an option for occasional evening work if you wish.
A good level of fitness
Full uniform and training will be provided.
Preferred candidates will undergo pre-employment drug and ******* testing.
