Online Reading and Academic Intervention Tutor (Grades 7–12)
Job Description
We are looking for educators who can build strong relationships with students while helping them improve confidence, accountability, organization, and independent learning skills.
Many of our students struggle with executive functioning, attention, organization, motivation, reading comprehension, writing, and task completion. We are looking for tutors who can provide structured, supportive, and engaging instruction while helping students develop long-term academic skills.
This is not a passive homework-help role. We are looking for tutors who can actively teach skills, scaffold learning, and support student growth in a virtual environment.
We Are Especially Interested In Tutors With:
Middle or high school teaching experience
Special Education background
Executive functioning coaching/support experience
Experience supporting students with ADHD or learning differences
Reading and writing intervention experience
Strong virtual teaching skills
Executive functioning experience is a strong plus, but not required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
Prior teaching or tutoring experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable teaching online using Zoom and digital tools
Reliable, professional, and responsive
Comfortable supporting struggling learners
Preferred Qualifications
Special Education certification or background
Executive functioning or study skills coaching experience
Experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, or learning differences
Reading intervention or writing support experience
Online tutoring experience
Availability Requirements
Must be available at least 4 consistent weekday after-school hours between 3 PM–8 PM CST
Minimum availability of 15–20 hours per week
Consistent weekly schedule required
Long-term availability strongly preferred
Weekend availability is a plus
Technology Requirements
Reliable high-speed internet
Quiet teaching environment
Webcam and microphone
Comfortable using Zoom, Google Docs, and online learning platforms
Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues independently

Prefer in-person instruction only
Have limited weekday after-school availability
Are uncomfortable working with struggling learners
Are not confident teaching virtually
