Part Time Night Auditor
Explorer Hotel
Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
The Explorer Hotel is currently seeking a Part Time Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. This role is ideal for a detail oriented and dependable individual who is comfortable working independently during overnight hours. Local candidates are strongly preferred for this position.
Position Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for supporting hotel operations overnight by providing front desk services, performing daily financial audits, and ensuring guest safety and satisfaction throughout the night shift. This role bridges guest service and accounting functions and is critical to the smooth transition between business days.
Key Responsibilities
Greet, assist, and provide exceptional service to guests during overnight hours
Perform guest check ins and check outs accurately and efficiently
Answer phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and resolve issues professionally
Complete the nightly audit of hotel financial transactions
Balance and reconcile daily revenue reports, cash, and credit card transactions
Prepare and distribute night audit reports for management and departments
Close and reset the hotel’s property management system for the new business day
Monitor hotel activity to ensure guest safety and security overnight
Conduct security checks of public areas and respond to overnight incidents as required
Handle late arrivals, early departures, and special guest requests
Maintain accurate records and logs of overnight activity
Assist with administrative or operational tasks as required
Communicate important overnight updates to day shift staff
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in a hotel front desk, night audit, or customer service role is an asset
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Comfortable working overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
Proficiency with computers and hotel systems (PMS experience is an asset)
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Local Yellowknife candidates preferred
