Job Overview:
SA Health Services are seeking a skilled and dedicated Allied Health Assistant to join our Mental Health Services Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the Older Persons Mental Health team in the delivery of allied health services to patients/clients.
About the Role:
The Allied Health Assistant will work under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to provide a range of specialised clinical screenings and patient treatments. This will include monitoring patient response to therapies, maintaining therapy-related databases, and assisting with patient transport. The role also involves supervising and training AHA-1 and AHA-2 staff where suitable.
Key Responsibilities:
Applying clinical screenings and patient treatments under the direction of an Allied Health Professional
Monitoring patient response to therapies and reporting to the supervising Allied Health Professional
Maintaining accurate therapy-related databases and patient documentation
Assisting with patient transport to/from Allied Health therapy/intervention
Supervising and training AHA-1 and AHA-2 staff where suitable
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent, as well as proven experience in delivering high-quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Additionally, you must be able to adapt to changing needs of the workplace on a daily basis and work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and/or handling of patient-related equipment and devices.
