We're seeking a motivated Mechanical Trade Assistant to support our skilled team and contribute to our reputation for engineering excellence.

Position Details

Rate: $35.15 per hour
Hours: 38 hours per week
Schedule:
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Employment: Full-time, ongoing position
About the Role

Work alongside experienced mechanical tradespeople in this hands-on position that offers excellent opportunities to develop your mechanical skills.

You'll contribute to producing high-quality industrial equipment used across mining, marine, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support: Assist qualified tradespeople with assembly, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes, winches, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Workshop Preparation: Organize tools, materials, and components for production tasks
Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and basic measurements using precision instruments
Testing Support: Assist with equipment testing and commissioning procedures
Workshop Management: Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory control
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and contribute to our zero-harm workplace culture
Continuous Improvement: Participate in process enhancement initiatives
Essential Requirements

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical principles, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
Physical Capability: Good fitness level with ability to lift up to 25kg
Licenses: Current forklift license and driver's license (essential)
Communication: Strong team collaboration and communication skills
Work Authorization: Must have unlimited working rights in Australia (student visa holders cannot be considered)
Highly Regarded Qualifications

Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of gear systems and power transmission
Experience: Previous manufacturing or workshop experience
Industry Exposure: Familiarity with industrial equipment or mechanical systems
