Manager – Fundraising (Individual Partnerships)
Job Description
The Manager – Fundraising (Individual Partnerships) is responsible for the strategic acquisition and retention of sponsors, general donors and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) as donors. This role entails the development and execution of a robust fundraising strategy, overseeing acquisition activities, donor stewardship, and team leadership. The position plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through individual partnerships while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and innovation in fundraising approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Fundraising & Donor Acquisition
Develop and implement an effective strategy for acquiring high-net-worth donors and sustaining long-term engagement. Identify, research, and cultivate potential donors through tailored fundraising approaches. Lead donor acquisition activities, including direct engagement, networking events, and digital campaigns. Utilize data-driven insights to refine donor segmentation and enhance conversion rates.
2. Donor Retention & Stewardship
Foster strong, long-term relationships with existing donors through personalized engagement strategies. Implement donor recognition initiatives to enhance loyalty and continued giving. Implement retention strategies that maximize donor lifetime value and contribution levels. Ensure a seamless donor experience through effective communication and impact reporting.
3. Business Development & Market Analysis
Monitor industry trends, donor behaviors, and competitive landscape to optimize fundraising strategies. Identify new fundraising opportunities and partnerships to diversify revenue streams. Develop innovative fundraising models, leveraging digital, face-to-face, and corporate channels. Prepare reports and data analysis to assess fundraising performance and areas for improvement.
4. Team Leadership & Performance Management
Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing fundraising team. Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure target achievement. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities. Foster a high-performance culture that is donor-centric and results-driven.
5. Operational Excellence & Compliance
Ensure all fundraising activities align with legal, ethical, and organizational guidelines. Oversee budget planning, financial forecasting, and cost management for fundraising initiatives. Implement effective CRM systems and donor management tools to track and optimize performance. Maintain transparency and accountability in donor reporting and fund utilization.
Qualifications & Experience:
1) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a minimum of 10–12 years of experience in fundraising, donor management, or business development and 5 years of experience in handling a fundraising team.
2) Proven track record in acquiring and managing high-net-worth donors. Strong leadership experience in managing teams and driving performance.
3) Proficiency in CRM systems, data analytics, and digital fundraising tools.
