Job Description
Janitorial & Cleaning Operations
Perform general cleaning duties to maintain common areas and vacant units, including washing walls and windows.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum hard-surface floors and carpeted areas.
Dust fixtures, clear debris, and ensure a high standard of cleanliness across the property.
Landscaping & Groundskeeping
Execute general landscaping tasks including routine lawn care, mowing, and edging.
Maintain garden beds by weeding, clearing overgrowth, and managing debris.
Trim and hedge bushes, shrubs, and trees to maintain clean property lines.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Safely operate basic hand and power tools including drills, power washers, and leaf blowers.
Maintain awareness of WorkSafeBC (WCB) regulations and actively observe and report property safety concerns to supervisors.
Handle, store, and utilize various cleaning products safely in accordance with WHMIS training.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
Currently a student who is enrolled in, or interested in entering a post-secondary program, trade school or relevant educational stream
Must successfully clear a criminal record check (backcheck) to work with vulnerable populations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Prior experience working in a Multi-Unit Residential Building (MURB) or an affordable housing environment is highly desirable.
Practical hands-on experience using power tools (e.g., drills, pressure washers, leaf blowers).
Demonstrated experience or familiarity with basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and landscaping tasks.
Completion of WHMIS training and familiarity with safe chemical handling procedures.
Strong observation skills with a focus on workplace safety and identifying hazards.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow detailed instruction protocols.
A valid British Columbia Driver’s License is considered a strong asset
