As Senior Network Rngineer (BlueCat DDI), you are responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) services using BlueCat solutions within a complex, enterprise-scale network environment. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of critical network services while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to support business operations.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in BlueCat DDI platforms, strong troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to network reliability, security, and automation.
Roles & Responsibilites
Configure, manage, and maintain BlueCat DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
Administer DNS services, including zone management, record creation, and resolution optimization across internal and external environments
Implement and maintain DNS security controls such as DNSSEC and protection against DDoS and other DNS-based threats
Manage DHCP servers, scopes, failover configurations, and IP lease allocations to ensure efficient and reliable address distribution
Perform IP address planning, allocation, and lifecycle management using BlueCat IPAM tools to optimize address space utilization
Monitor DDI systems proactively to ensure uptime, performance, and capacity, and take corrective actions as needed
Troubleshoot and resolve complex DNS and DHCP-related network issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Collaborate with network, cloud, and systems teams to integrate DDI services with enterprise infrastructure and applications
Support hybrid and cloud integrations, ensuring seamless operation across on-premises and cloud-based environments
Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and compliance requirements for all DDI components
Conduct audits of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM configurations to ensure adherence to organizational standards and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change records
Automate routine DDI tasks and processes using APIs, scripting, or orchestration tools to improve efficiency and scalability
Participate in incident management, change management, and on-call support to maintain business continuity
Continuously evaluate and optimize DDI architecture and processes to enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
Job Description - Grade Specific
Technical experience managing enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM environments
Hands-on experience with BlueCat DDI solutions (Address Manager, DNS/DHCP servers)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and subnetting
Experience with DNS protocols and technologies (BIND, DNSSEC, etc.)
Familiarity with DHCP architecture, failover, and high availability
Preferred Qualifications
BlueCat Certified Professional (BCP) or similar certification
Experience with cloud-based networking (AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, etc.)
Knowledge of network automation (Python, REST APIs, Ansible)
Experience integrating DDI with security tools (SIEM, firewall, NAC)
ITIL certification or experience working in ITIL-based environments
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
