As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Indigenous Curriculum Development, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of built environment education at the University of Melbourne. You'll have the opportunity to develop innovative curricula incorporating Indigenous perspectives, enhance cultural competencies in design disciplines, and create accessible pathways for Indigenous students into tertiary education. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our teaching programmes meet the highest cultural and ethical standards of engagement with Indigenous communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Curriculum Development and Delivery: Coordinate and develop high-quality undergraduate and graduate curricula incorporating Indigenous knowledges and cultural competencies.
Community Engagement: Establish links with schools and communities to create pathways for Indigenous student recruitment.
Scholarship and Research: Contribute to high-quality publications and engage in scholarly activities relevant to your field.
Leadership and Collaboration: The successful candidate may be invited to apply for the role of Assistant Dean (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement). The Assistant Dean would be part of the Faculty Leadership group, would represent the Faculty on relevant University committees, and would help to establish an Indigenous Advisory Group.
Faculty Development: Ensure the alignment of the Faculty’s indigenous plans with the University's Indigenous Strategy Murmuk Djerring. Collaborate with Murrup Barak to empower student success.
You may be a great fit if:

You are a passionate educator with a PhD or equivalent folio of scholarship in a relevant field, preferably architecture, possessing significant teaching experience and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with Indigenous communities.

You may also:

Have experience in tertiary-level curriculum development incorporating Indigenous perspectives.
Possess excellent teaching skills and a passion for undergraduate and graduate education.
Demonstrate strong academic administration skills and willingness to undertake various roles.
Have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Show capacity to reinforce the interdisciplinary character of the Faculty through collaborative research and teaching.
Have relevant work experience in your area of expertise or discipline.

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of inhabited environments.
