Full job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Lead Validation Engineer specializing in Computer System Validation (CSV) and DeltaV automation systems. In this pivotal role, you will lead validation activities for complex industrial automation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will drive the development, execution, and oversight of validation protocols, system verification, and qualification processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence cutting-edge manufacturing environments through innovative validation strategies and technical leadership. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting and possess a passion for engineering excellence, we want to hear from you!

Duties

Lead the design, development, and execution of validation protocols for DeltaV control systems, electrical systems, and automation platforms.
Oversee system development verification activities, including software validation, hardware qualification, and integration testing.
Conduct root cause analysis on validation issues or system failures to identify underlying causes and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on PCB design, FPGA programming, circuit design, and electronics testing to ensure system robustness.
Manage project scheduling to meet validation milestones while coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
Utilize simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and SystemVerilog to model control systems and validate performance criteria.
Prepare detailed documentation including validation reports, calibration records, schematics, electrical drawings (using AutoCAD or Revit), and compliance reports aligned with NFPA 70 standards and electrical building codes.
Support manufacturing by troubleshooting electrical systems, performing soldering on surface mount technology (SMT) components, and verifying electrical schematic designs.
Implement automation solutions using programming languages like Python, C++, Perl, and scripting to streamline validation workflows.
Ensure all validation activities comply with industry standards such as NEC regulations and NFPA 70 wiring codes while maintaining safety protocols.
Skills

Extensive experience with DeltaV automation systems and system development verification processes.
Strong background in electrical engineering principles including PCB design, electrical schematic creation, circuit design, and control systems integration.
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for system layout and mechanical design support.
Hands-on experience with FPGA programming (SystemVerilog), SoC architecture development, ARM microcontrollers, Arduino platforms, and firmware development.
Expertise in electronics design testing—including soldering (surface mount technology), signal processing techniques, debugging electronic circuits using tools like ohmmeters—and electronics troubleshooting.
Knowledge of industrial automation hardware such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors (vision inspection systems), and communication systems engineering.
Familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink for control system modeling; scripting skills in Python or Perl for automation tasks; proficiency in C++ for embedded system programming.
Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex technical issues within electrical or electronic systems; adept at using engineering troubleshooting methodologies.
Understanding of mechanical engineering concepts related to manufacturing equipment design using Revit or Mechanical CAD tools like SolidWorks or MicroStation.
Strong project management skills including project scheduling; capable of balancing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
