Job Duties:
Plan and manage the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM including all daily labor, equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives
All aspects of Garden and Lawn maintenance to a high ‘fine-gardening’ standard.
Tree, shrub, and plant identification and all types of pruning, planting, installing sod, lawn fertilization and other horticultural tasks as required
Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the building of landscape gardens and related areas
Adept and professional use of all common horticulture hand- and power-tools of the trade.
Supervise the work of crew members to ensure proper safety, quality, and productivity
Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction issues
Train crew members on proper and safe job methods
Conduct daily inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment
Complete and submit all required daily time tracking and job notes in app
Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
Comply with all company policies, and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
Communicate with customers and teammates in a friendly manner
Keep locker, truck, tools and equipment clean and well maintained
Requirements:
Completion of college, vocational, or technical training
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the landscape maintenance industry
Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, and perennials
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Excellent observational skills and a strong attention to detail
Time management skills
Ability to lead a team
Ability to follow safe working procedures
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting
Work Conditions:
Job requires the ability to work with hand tools and small engine equipment, outdoors, and at times on hilly, uneven or terraced terrain.
Some materials handled daily are heavy, and require a level of fitness/strength to perform normal garden and landscape tasks, which include lifting, carrying, bending, crouching, walking, standing.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions, seasons, and around power equipment.
Work overtime when required (occasionally when needed)
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, noise, and cold
Pay:
$31-35 per hour, depending on experience
