Lab Technician For A Dairy Milk Lab

Job Description

The Lab Technician ensures that the Lab runs smoothly on a daily basis, by

providing support to the other members of the Lab. This position will report

directly to the Lab Manager.

Duties

This position will collect, receive, label and/or analyze samples or

substances using the correct testing equipment.

This position will be identifying bacteria on various agars, executing

laboratory testing in line with the standard testing procedures. Recording,

observations, and interpreting findings.

Has knowledge of incubators and how to properly store plated samples,

checking the temperatures and connecting Carbon Dioxide tanks. Basic

cleaning of the Lab, autoclaving swabs, and waste.

Data input/computer knowledge.

Other Duties

Driving a route between locations picking up samples across New Mexico

and Texas. **Must be able to drive a standard/manual transmission vehicle.

Education

A Bachelors Degree in Micro-Biology or Animal Science is desirable, although a

High School Diploma may be adequate with a learning attitude.

Formal training may be provided in the form of in person training and/or online

training.
