Junior HR Generalist
Job Description
The successful candidate will bring 2+ years of HR or related experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage employee inquiries and HR cases through to completion. This role is well suited to someone who is organized, responsive, comfortable handling confidential information, and able to work in a busy HR environment.
• Location: Calgary, AB – On-site, Calgary-based candidates only
• Job Type: Contract – September 14, 2026 to June 15, 2027 (~9 months)
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee and retiree HR inquiries.
• Provide guidance on HR processes, policies, programs, and practices.
• Manage HR cases related to employee lifecycle events and coordinate with internal HR teams through completion.
• Respond to inquiries through online portals, telephone, and chat while providing timely and professional service.
• Work with HR partners to resolve more complex employee matters and escalate when required.
• Accurately document inquiries and case activity in the case management system.
• Maintain employee and HR information within SAP and/or Workday.
• Support the administration of HR programs for employees and leaders.
• Manage multiple inquiries and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR services, processes, efficiency, and the employee experience.
• Participate in training, projects, and HR initiatives as required.
Qualifications - Must-Haves
• University degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of Human Resources or relevant experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a service or customer-facing role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience providing professional and responsive customer service.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information appropriately.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Able to work onsite in Calgary.
