Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Noida/Gurgaon for a junior database administrator. The Junior Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining databases, designing database structures, and troubleshooting database issues. Daily tasks will include setting up database replication, ensuring data integrity and security, and optimising performance. Collaboration with other IT team members to support business applications is also required.
Qualifications
• Database Administration and Databases skills
• Proficiency in Database Design, including schema design and normalization
• Strong Troubleshooting skills, specifically for database-related issues
• Experience with Database Replication and ensuring data consistency
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective communication with team members
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
• Experience with specific database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases.
• Manage database security, backup & recovery, and high-availability setups.
• Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions.
• Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams for schema designs, query optimisation, and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal data governance policies.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
Must-Have Skills:
• 3+ years of proven experience as a database administrator.
• Strong expertise in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle DB (optional)
• Experience in database clustering, replication, and disaster recovery setups.
• Proficient in SQL scripting, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.) is a plus.
Good to Have:
• Exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis.
• Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment.
• Certification in MS SQL/PostgreSQL is an added advantage.
Location: Noida/Gurgaon (Preference will be given to candidates open to hybrid working model.)
